Result: Bodo/Glimt 0-1 Arsenal

Date: 13 October 2022

Venue: Aspmyra Stadion

The Gunners made five changes to the side won the reverse 3-0, as William Saliba, Ben White, Martin Odegaard Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Saka were recalled.

Mikel Arteta's charges were patient on the ball in the early stages, building from the back and Saka eventually broke the deadlock on 24 minutes after exchanging passes with Albert Sambi Lokonga and fired a strike that was blocked but ricocheted off his chest and went over the line.

Bodo had a wake-up call and immediately threatened five minutes later after Amahi Pellegrino went through on goal but he curled his shot well wide.

The visitors regained control of the game towards the end of the first stanza but they were unable to find clear openings in the last third as they settled for a narrow lead at the half-time break.

Bodo had a bright start in the second stanza as Pellegrino had another good chance after he was threaded through on goal by Patrick Berg but his low strike across goal was parried away by goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The hosts continued to cause problems for Arsenal and Arteta made a double attacking change to alter his system around the hour-mark, as Granit Xhaka replaced Saka and Gabriel Martinelli came on for Nelson.

Arsenal had a good spell of possession after that but they did not have the finesse and cutting edge to get past the Bodo rearguard.

The Norwegian side had the urgency going forward in the dying minutes but they too lacked the quality of the final ball and the Gunners held on to their third consecutive win in Group A.
