UEFA Europa League Last 16 Wrap

UEFA Europa League Last 16 Wrap

Wolverhampton Wanderers' dream debut season in the Europa League continued after they booked a spot in the last eight after overcoming Olympiakos.

Wolves secured themselves a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Greece before the season was suspended by the coronavirus pandemic.

However, it was Raul Jimenez's eighth-minute strike that secured a 1-0 win in the second leg to confirm a spot in the quarter-finals.

FC Basel eased into the quarter-final following their 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The tie was virtually sealed after Basel won the first leg 3-0, while Fabian Frei's 88th minute strike on Thursday night made it 4-0 on aggregate.

Basel will now face Ukraine Shakhtar Donestk in the next round.

Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after defeating Rangers 1-0 in the second leg.

The Bundesliga outfit held a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, but Moussa Diaby's 51st minute strike was enough to seal a 1-0 win at the BayerArena in the second leg.

Five-time winners Sevilla advanced to the last eight with a 2-0 victory over AS Roma on Thursday night.

After the first leg ended goalless, first-half goals from on-loan Reguilon and Youssef En-Nesyri secured victory for the LaLiga outfit.
