Portugal's manager has responded to whether Cristiano Ronaldo's time on the international stage is over after they crashed out of EURO 2024.

A Selecao were knocked out of the competition as the quarter-final round following a penalty shootout defeat to France on Friday.

Ronaldo leaves the competition having been unable to add to his 14 goals at the EUROs, with his future as a Portugal international now in question.

The 39-year-old was widely criticised for his performances in Germany after failing to find the back of the net from his 23 attempts.

Roberto Martinez, however, has insisted no decision has been made over the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's future on the international stage.

"No. Everything is too raw," he said after Portugal's loss to France.

"We are still suffering the defeat. There's no individual decisions at this point."

The Spaniard has received backlash for starting Ronaldo in all five games at EURO 2024, after he lost his place in their first XI under Fernando Santos at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

On Portugal's disappointment, the ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United No. 7 has said: "We wanted more. We deserved more. For us. For each one of you. For Portugal. We are grateful for everything you have given us and for everything we have achieved so far.

"On and off the field, I am sure that this legacy will be honored and will continue to be built. Together."
