Lingard's Shock Wage In South Korea 'Revealed'

Lingard's Shock Wage In South Korea 'Revealed'

The shock weekly wage that former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard earns in South Korea has reportedly been revealed.

After saying he had around 26 teams after his signature, the former England regular penned a two-year deal with FC Seoul in February, and has since made his debut for the club.

This after Lingard spent six months without a side following his free-agent departure from Nottingham Forest, whom he joined on a free deal after leaving Manchester United in 2022.

Although his debut on the weekend – a 13-minute cameo from the bench – did not go according to plan, the 31-year-old has expressed his happiness to be playing football again.

According to the Mirror, Lingard is earning just £17 500 (R421 000) a week in in the K League, which is significantly less than what he was being paid during his time in England.

At Forest, the attacking midfielder was reportedly on a weekly salary of £180 000 (R4.3 million), while he was said to be earning £100 000 (R2.4 billion) weekly during the end of his time at Old Trafford.

Lingard's new wage means he will take home £910 000 (R21 million) annually in Asia.
