With the Spaniard's future in Germany in doubt, the Bayern manager has been strongly linked with the Citizens. However, new reports have suggested he may want to go to the red half of Manchester instead.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Guardiola would reportedly prefer taking over the reins at United – a club he is believed to admire.
The former FC Barcelona boss was linked with the Red Devils back in 2013 after Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but David Moyes took over the job instead.
Current manager Louis van Gaal's contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of next season, while Guardiola's deal with the Bavarians runs out at the end of this campaign.
If United were to appoint the Spaniard as boss in the summer, it is believed they would have to pay the Dutchman £7 million in compensation.
