The Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) has confirmed it is investigating a new video that appears to show suspended EPL referee David Coote allegedly inhaling a white powder during his reported involvement at Euro 2024 last summer.

Published by The Sun, the footage has emerged just days after Coote was suspended by the PGMOL on Monday over a separate video that allegedly featured him making disparaging comments about Liverpool and their former manager Jurgen Klopp.

In response to the new video, a spokesperson for PGMOL stated on Wednesday: "We are aware of the allegations and are taking them very seriously. David Coote remains suspended pending a full investigation."

The statement continued: "David's welfare continues to be of utmost importance to us and we are committed to providing him with the ongoing necessary support he needs through this period. We are not in a position to comment further at this stage."

Earlier in the week, the FA launched an investigation into a separate video that went viral on social media, showing Coote allegedly making derogatory remarks about Liverpool and Klopp.

On Wednesday, UEFA confirmed that they had also taken action by suspending Coote earlier in the week.

A UEFA spokesperson told Sky Sports News: "The UEFA Referees Committee immediately suspended David Coote until further notice on 11 November – ahead of the upcoming round of UEFA matches – upon becoming aware of his inappropriate behaviour."

As the investigation continues, Coote's future in officiating remains uncertain, with both the PGMOL and UEFA taking a hard stance on the serious allegations.
