Report: Newcastle United Identify New Coach After Unai Emery Rejection

Newcastle United have turned their attention to another available head coach after they were rejected by Villarreal manager Unai Emery.

The Magpies were reportedly closing in on the former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain boss following the departure of Steve Bruce a couple of weeks ago.

However, Emery announced on Wednesday that he will remain with the Yellow Submarine this season.

"Villarreal is my home and I am 100% committed," Emery said in a statement released by Villarreal.

"Honestly, I am grateful for the interest of a great club, but even more grateful to be here and that is why I communicated to Fernando Roig my decision to continue being part of this project."

The Sun has reported that Newcastle will now turn to former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, who is understood to have already had talks with the Premier League outfit.

Howe has been without a club since parting ways with the Cherries, where he spent eight years and guided the club from League One to the Premier League.
