Liverpool 3-1 West Ham United

Liverpool climbed to second spot on the Premier League table with a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield.

The Reds opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Mohamed Salah converted a penalty after he was brought down in the box.

The Egyptian forward become the fifth player in Premier League history to either score or assist a goal in each of his team's first six games of a league season.

The Hammers did manage to level matters just before the break when Jarrod Bowen got ahead of Virgil van Dijk to head home a neat cross from Coufal.

The Reds took control in the second half as Darwin Nunez restored Liverpool's lead in the 60th minute before Diogo Jota sealed the win with five minutes left on the clock.

Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

Chelsea's struggles in the Premier League continued after losing 1-0 Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

After a scoreless first half, the game came to life in the second half when the Blues were reduced to ten men on 58 minutes when Malo Gusto was shown a straight red for a dangerous challenge.

Villa went on to get the game's only goal in the 76th minute when Ollie Watkins grabbed his first of the season with a neat strike.

Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 Bournemouth

Brighton and Hove Albion climbed up to third spot after defeating Bournemouth 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring on 25 minutes after profiting from an error from Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

The hosts hit back through an own goal from Milos Kerkez, before Kaoru Mitoma bagged a brace in the second half.

Sheffield United 0-8 Newcastle United

Newcastle United gave their supporters a day to remember after thrashing Sheffield United 8-0 on Sunday evening.

The Magpies raced into a three-goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn and Sven Botman.

The rout continued in the second half as Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak also got their names on the score-sheet.

In doing so, Newcastle became the first team in Premier League history to have eight different scorers in one game.
