Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho's future could reportedly lie at Arsenal as head coach Mikel Arteta looks to ship Matteo Guendouzi out of the London club.
Coutinho, 28, who spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Bayern Munich, will return to parent club FC Barcelona after the German giants decided not to activate their £109 million (R2.3 billion) buyout option on the player.
However, according to the Daily Mail, a deal between the Catalans and the Gunners to swap the young French talent for the former Liverpool maestro could soon be agreed.
Arsenal boss Arteta is believed to have ejected the midfielder from the first team after he taunted fellow countryman Neal Maupay about the size of his wage package during the London club's 2-1 loss to Brighton Hove Albion last month.
Since then, the Poissy-born player has not played for the club's senior side or even been selected for the matchday squad.
The wavey-haired youngster's discipline has been called into question previously, having reportedly had a bust-up with management while training with the club in Dubai before the coronavirus lockdown came into effect.
