Pep Breaks Silence On 'Next Job' Rumour

Pep Guardiola has broken his silence amid claims he already has a new job lined up ahead of the expiration of his Manchester City contract.

The Spaniard has been linked with the England position in recent months following Gareth Southgate's departure earlier this year.

Lee Carsley has held the role temporarily since August and appears set to return to the England U21 job in the coming months.

Guardiola, meanwhile, is yet to extend his deal at the Citizens, although rumours have suggested he is open managing the Three Lions ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.

However, the 53-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of this season, has denied there is an agreement that will see him become England's next coach.

"It's not true," he told Che Tempo Che Fa.

"I'm Manchester City manager. I've not decided anything, everything can happen. So, I don't know."

Since taking charge of City in 2016, Guardiola has won an incredible 18 trophies in England, including six Premier League titles.

Some of the club's achievements, however, have been called into question amid the Premier League alleging that City breached 115 financial rules between 2009 and 2018.

This has thrown Guardiola's future into doubt, particularly after the club's director of football, Txiki Begiristain, confirmed he will bid the Etihad Stadium farewell at the end of the season.
