Manchester City have officially announced that they have secured the services of a French superstar.

The Citizens have continued their rebuild by signing playmaker and France international Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyonnais.
The young attacker has been highly touted for a number of years. In recent windows, clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool FC were rumoured to have come extremely close to securing his services, but now he has left his native France to join forces with Premier League giants Manchester City.
The English side have reportedly paid Lyon over €40 million (R808 million) for the 21-year-old and have agreed a five-year deal to keep him at the Etihad Stadium. The two-time capped international has now finalised his transfer and will be part of the team’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Their journey at the revamped global spectacle will start against African opposition, as they are set to play their first match at the tournament against Wydad Athletic Club, before facing Al Ain and wrapping up the group stages against Juventus.
