According to The Sun, Morocco international Nayef Aguerd has caught the eye of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp following the centre-back's debut campaign in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old arrived at West Ham United at the beginning of last season and has seemingly made a massive impression on the division's bigger sides, with the German tactician believed to be keen to bolster his defence come 2024.
At Anfield, both Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are 32 years old, and Ibrahim Konate, despite his quality, has proved injury prone of late, while there are perhaps still doubts about whether Joe Gomez can be the main protagonist in a Premier League-winning defence.
The same report claims that scouts at the home of the six-time European champions have cast their eye on Aguerd as a result, and have identified him as a desired target after his efforts for the Hammers last season.
Liverpool could, however, face competition for his services from reigning champions Manchester City, who are also said to be keen on reinforcing their backline.
With the likes of Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji all performing at a high level for Pep Guardiola, the need for Aguerd is not as pressing as Liverpool's, but the Mancunians could make an attempt to sign him regardless.

The former FUS Rabat man will likely command a big transfer fee, though, given his performances for David Moyes last season, coupled with the four years currently remaining on his contract at the London Stadium.
