A former Liverpool striker, who was part of the club's famous treble-winning side in the early 1980s, has passed away at the age of 61.
On Tuesday, the family of former Reds striker Michael Robinson confirmed via the former Reupblic of Ireland international's official social media accounts that he had passed away.
"With tremendous sadness we inform you of Michael's death. It leaves us with a great emptiness, but also countless memories, full of the same love that you have shown him," the family said.
"We will be eternally grateful to you for making this man SO HAPPY, he never walked alone. Thank you."
Robinson scored 13 goals in 52 appearances for Liverpool and was part of the squad that won the league, the European Cup and League Cup titles in the 1983/84 campaign.
The Leicester-born forward later went on to represent Queens Park Rangers before hanging up his boots in Spain with Osasuna in 1989, and had previously been diagnosed with skin cancer.
