Incoming Man Utd Boss Makes Big Man City Admission

Incoming Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made a huge admission over the Manchester City job, which could become vacant at the end of the season.

There is growing speculation that this could be Pep Guardiola's final campaign in charge of the English champions.

The Citizens' sporting director Txiki Begiristain is set to leave at the end of the season and is going to be replaced by current Sporting CP director of football Hugo Viana.

Guardiola is in the final months of his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, and it was rumoured that Viana would likely also bring Amorim with him to City if the Spaniard was to finally depart the northwest of England.

The Portuguese tactician will, however, be heading to the other side of Manchester as he was confirmed as the Red Devils' new head coach last week, taking over from the recently sacked Erik ten Hag.

The 39-year-old was quizzed on whether he ever considered taking the City post if it became available.

"It's something that crosses your mind but I never had any doubts," he said, according to ESPN.

"My decision has been made and that's the club I want to work for. That's where I want to continue my career as a coach.

"It crossed my mind, but I decided on the club I wanted and I didn't want anything else. I wanted Manchester United and that's what I did."

Amorim, who has two games remaining as Sporting CP's manager, will start his new role on 11 November.
