Manchester City cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over West Brom in an English Premier League match at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday night.
City controlled the flow of play from the opening whistle and made their pressure tell in the 19th minute following some great interplay on the edge of the box which concluded with Fernandinho latching onto a perfect pass and firing an excellent low shot into the net, 1-0.
Ten minutes later Ben Foster was at his best with a superb save, diving low to his left to deny Kevin De Bruyne from 16-yards out.
West Brom suffered a further setback in the 33rd minute when Grzegorz Krychowiak had to leave the field injured and was replaced by Gareth Barry.
Seven minutes later injury also struck for City when David Silva limped off and was replaced by Ilkay Gundogan.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of City.
Three minutes into the second half Raheem Sterling should have found City's second after latching onto a pass inside the box, but he fired inches wide from 14-yards out.
In the 66th minute Bernardo Silva tried his luck from long range, but the West Brom keeper made another fantastic save to turn his effort around the post.
Five minutes later City did find their second goal when a well-placed shot from De Bruyne struck the back of the net from the edge of the box, 2-0.
The icing on the cake for City was their third goal scored by Sergio Aguero in the 90th minute when he drove into the box and cleverly chipped the ball over the onrushing keeper, 3-0.
