Earlier this week, the DFB announced the sacking of Hansi Flick in the wake of Die Mannschaft's 4-1 loss to Japan in an international friendly at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg.
Prior to their friendly victory over France on Tuesday night, which was overseen by Germany legend Rudi Voller and two other coaches, the side had failed to win in five matches and did not make it out of the group stage at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Rumours suggest that ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann and Liverpool's Klopp are considered preferable candidates for the position, but the latter's representative, Marc Kosicke, has insisted that the 56-year-old is committed to the Reds.
"He has a long-term contract with Liverpool," he told Sportschau.
"He's not available for national coaching position."
