Reports: How FC Barcelona Boss Treated Players After El Clasico Win

Barca beat Real 1-0 in El Clasico

Following FC Barcelona's historic El Clasico win over Real Madrid in LaLiga on Saturday night, Ernesto Valverde reportedly rewarded his players for their efforts.

The Catalans triumphed over their Spanish rivals for the second time in four days on Saturday, when a single strike from Ivan Rakitic was enough to secure a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Clasico was cagey and had moments of drama, such as when Lionel Messi was elbowed in the face by Sergio Ramos, but the clash ended with all 22 players still on the pitch.

Barca's victory took them 12 points ahead of Los Blancos in the LaLiga standings, although their lead on second-placed Atletico Madrid is just seven points.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Valverde decided to cancel the Blaugrana's training session on Sunday as a reward for his players' efforts.

With the team not training on Monday either, training for the club's first-team stars will only resume on Tuesday.

Speaking about Barca's title challenge after the match, Valverde insisted his players will fight until the very last match.

"We still have a whole world in front of us. We know Madrid can win a lot of consecutive games, Atletico Madrid are still there too," he said, according to the Daily Star.

"Until (the title is) mathematically secure, we will keep battling. We respect our rivals, like they do to us. You have to keep fighting, if you think about it, you start losing.

"Madrid are there, there are many days left and we have to foresee that Madrid will recover and will cut our lead.

"You always look at second place, and also Atletico are a very solid team, but there is a lot of the league left."

Ramos Equals El Clasico Record

Following the two El Clasico wins, Barcelona have now overtaken Real in the fixture's head-to-head record, having won 96 clashes against their bitter rivals, while Los Blancos have won 95 and 51 of the derbies ended in a draw. For the first time in 87 years, Barca lead the head-to-head record in El Clasico!
