This was the first time in 11 years the Clasico took place without Messi or Ronaldo, but the scintillating football on display made many forget their absence early on.
Brazil international Philippe Coutinho found the back of the net in the 11th minute after he was picked out cleverly by the marauding Jordi Alba, who picked up his sixth assist of the campaign.
Suarez then opened his account with a penalty 15 minutes before the half-time, before Los Blancos fullback Marcelo pulled one back for his side after the break. The Uruguayan forward added another two to score his first Clasico hat-trick, while substitute Arturo Vidal was on target with his head three minutes from time.
Despite the six goals scored on the evening, there were plenty of other talking points too. For example, as the Camp Nou crowd hurled abuse towards Real captain Ramos, Pique condemned the chants by waving his finger at his club's fans.

Many believe the 5-1 loss will see manager Julen Lopetegui lose his job at Real, who are now ninth on the LaLiga table after 10 games.
