The latest Clasico, which is arguably the biggest match on the annual football calendar, was played under the backdrop of political tension in Spain, with ongoing protests taking place around the region of Catalonia.
That tension spilled over at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, where, according to Marca, no fewer than 53 people were injured outside the stadium during the protest action in favour of Catalonia's independence.

Reports indicate that 13 people had to be hospitalised following the chaos, with at least two suffering serious injuries. It is believed the injuries were sustained after police attempted to disperse the protesters, who had also set garbage cans alight.
This is the second occasion this season that the ongoing protests have affected the derby, with the match previously having to be postponed from its original date in October.
