Unsurprisingly, it is the Blaugrana's Messi that is the best-paid player, with the Argentine believed to be on a mammoth salary of £500 000 (R9.8 million) a week in Spain.
The second highest-earner from the two teams is Real's Eden Hazard, though the Belgian is likely to miss the encounter due to an injury. The former Chelsea player, on £400 000 (R7.9 million) a week, has featured just 15 times in his debut campaign, and could now miss the rest of the campaign.
