Michy Batshuayi scored a hat-trick as Chelsea thumped Nottingham Forest 5-1 in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Stamford on Wednesday Night.
The Premier League Champions won the game comfortably as Antonio Conte rang the changes to the team that faced the Championship side.
Andrea Bouchalakis tested out Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero with a long-range drive who saved well early on.
Chelsea then grabbed the lead the opening goal within 13 minutes as Kennedy volleyed home from the far post after being set-up by defender Rudiger,1-0.
Five minutes later Michy Batshuayi doubled Chelsea's lead as he latched onto Eden Hazard's through ball to score past Stephen Henderson, 2-0.
At this stage, Chelsea were all over Championship side, and Charly Musonda added goal three as he scored his first goal for the blues in the 40th minute,3-0.
The first half ended with the score at 3-0.
Eden Hazard struck the woodwork early in the second half, the winger turned provider later on as he embarked on an individual run to tee Batshuayi to make it 4-0 in the 53rd minute.
It wasn't until the 81st minute that Nottingham Forest came close to scoring however Caballero did just enough to stop Clough's shot from a tight angle.
Batshuayi completed his hat-trick as Kenndy's shot fortuitously rebounded off the striker into the net, 5-0.
Forest scored a consolation goal in stoppage after a counter attack saw Tendai Darikwa to end the match 5-1,
