English Football League Cup Wrap 25 October 2016

Newcastle 6-0 Preston North End   Newcastle United were on fire on Tuesday night as they humiliate Preston North End 6-0 in their English Football League Cup tie.   Aleksandar Mitrovic opened the hosts' account in the 19th minute before Mohamed Diame made it 2-0 just before the break.   It was 4-0 soon after the restart as Matt Ritchie found the back of the net and Mitrovic completed his brace.   Diame scored the Magpies' fifth as he bagged a double, and Ayoze Perez capped off the performance with another in stoppage time.   Bristol City 1-2 Hull City   The Tigers took control of proceedings around half-time, netting the opener in the 44th minute via Harry Maguire, before Michael Dawson made it 2-0 two minutes into the second stanza.   A stoppage-time strike from Lee Tomlin provided some late drama, but Hull held on for the win.   Leeds United 2-2 (pen. 3-2) Norwich City   Alex Pritchard gave the Canaries the lead in the 14th minute, before an equaliser arrived via Marcus Antonsson's boot just before the break.   The game went into extra-time, and Nelson Oliveira (99') gave Norwich the lead, but Chris Wood (109') forced the game to penalties, which Leeds won 3-2.
