It is claimed that Lewandowski, whose current contract expires in 2023, is happy at the Bavarians, but has aspirations of joining another big European team before his 35th birthday.
Bayern reportedly value the Poland international at about £100 million (R2 billion), which could hurt his chances of getting a move away from the club in this transfer window.
It is suggested that Lewandowski is frustrated that the Bundesliga giants do not want to sell him, but will not do anything to harm his relationship with the club by forcing an exit.
Since joining Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2013, Lewandowski has every available trophy, including the UEFA Champions League.
Widely recognised as one of the world's greatest strikers, the Pole has scored 297 goals in 331 appearances in all competitions, with 56 of those coming in 68 matches in Europe's biggest club competition.
Individually, Lewandowski won The Best FIFA Men's Player and the UEFA Men's Player of the Year in 2020, as well as the European Golden Shoe at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
