Manchester United are reportedly looking at the prospect of bringing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland to Old Trafford in a swap deal.

Haaland has long been linked with the Red Devils, but those rumours have quietened since the arrival of the Norwegian's former teammate Jadon Sancho at United.
The Red Devils are unlikely to be able to afford a hefty fee for Haaland, though, having already forked out £73 million (R1.5 billion) for Sancho, and are now thinking of ingenious ways to get their man.
Mundo Deportivo has reported that one of those could see them use Anthony Martial as bait in a player exchange, with United adding cash to the deal.
There are two major stumbling blocks, however, the first being that Dortmund have already said they are not interested in swap deals when it comes to Haaland.
Also, considering his asking price is set at a whopping £150 million (R3 billion), United may opt to wait until next season when his release clause of £66 million (R1.3 billion) is activated, meaning they will be able to sign him for at a cut price, but other clubs will also join the race for his services at that price.
Chelsea are said to have made a £130 million (R2.6 billion) offer for Haaland, but Dortmund have consistently stated he is not for sale, although United are reportedly looking to beat their Premier league rivals to the 21-year-old's signature.
Haaland finished the 2020/21 campaign with 41 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund.
