Bayern Munich moved to within two points of Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund after rallying from behind to defeat Augsburg in a five-goal thriller.
The visitors got off to the worst possible start when Philipp Max's shot from distance deflected off Leon Goretzka and sailed past the the returning Manuel Neuer.
After the shaky start, Bayern eventually pulled level on 17 minutes as Joshua Kimmich's cross found Kingsley Coman, who side-footed home from close range.
Bayern are currently enduring their worst defensive record at this stage, conceding 24 goals in 21 Bundesliga games this season.
Those defensive woes worsened on 23 minutes when Ji Dong-Won restored Bayern's lead after turning home a cross from Michael Gregoritsch.
The visitors level matters on the stroke of halftime, with Coman completing his brace with a clinical left-footed strike from close range.
Eight minutes into the second half, Bayern were in front for the first time in the match as Coman turned provider to pick out David Alaba, who fired into the bottom corner.
With Liverpool coming up in the week, Niko Kovac opted to withdraw James Rodriguez and Serge Gnabry for Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery.
Coman went close to completing a hat-trick with just under 20 minutes remaining when his header cannoned off the crossbar at the far post.
The visitors were able to see out the remaining stages with relative ease as they now move two points behind Dortmund who are in action on Saturday.
