Bundesliga Wrap: Borussia Monchengladbach finally register first win

Borussia Monchengladbach finally got their first win of the Bundesliga season after defeating Arminia Bielefeld 3-1 at Borussia-Park.

Lars Stindl broke the deadlock for the hosts ten minutes before the half-time break and Masaya Okugawa levelled matters for Arminia on the stroke of half-time.

Standl restored the lead for Die Fohlen in the 69th minute and Denis Zakaria sealed the deal with the third goal three minutes later.

Die Fohlen went up to 11th place on the log with four points from as many matches while Bielefeld dropped down to 14th with three points.

Gladbach will visit Augsburg in their upcoming outing next Saturday afternoon while Bielefeld will host Hoffenheim on the same day and time.

Eintracht Frankfurt missed the chance to ba their first win of the season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by ten-man Stuttgart at Deutsche Bank Park.

After a goalless first stanza, Filip Kostic eventually broke the deadlock for Eintracht 11 minutes before time and the visitors were reduced to ten men three minutes later after Waldemar Anton got a straight red card for a bad challenge.

However, debutant Omar Marmoush rescued a point for Stutgart with the equaliser two minutes before time.

The Eagles are languishing in 15th place with three points, all from draws while Stuttgart are placed tenth, with four points in these early stages.

Eintracht will switch their focus to their UEFA Europa League group stage opener at home against Fenerbahce on Thursday while Stuttgart will wait a week until they host Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday afternoon.

Hertha Berlin won for the first time after thrashing VfB Bochum 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Suat Serdar at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Serdar broke the deadlock for Hertha eight minutes before the half-time break and he doubled the visitors' lead and grabbed his brace two minutes before half-time.

Simon Zoller pulled a goal back for Bochum on the hour-mark but Myziane Maolida put the game to bed for Hertha with the third goal 12 minutes before time.

Hertha only jumped two places up in 16th place with their first points while Bochum were left in 13th place with the same number of points.

Bochum will visit Bayern Munich in their upcoming encounter next Saturday in the afternoon while Hertha will play another newly-promoted side Greuther Furth next Friday evening on home soil.
