For most of the off-season, it has been the 33-time Bundesliga champions who have been rumoured to be in pole position to land the England captain's signature.
The German giants are said to have already come to an agreement regarding personal terms with the 29-year-old, but after seeing two bids rejected by Tottenham Hotspur, this has perhaps opened the door for other suitors to swoop in for the attacker.
However, Bayern chief Herbert Hainer has confessed that Die Roten still have a desire to sign up the Three Lions' all-time top goalscorer.
"I think the Bundesliga doesn't have that many international stars anymore," the 69-year-old German executive told Kicker.
"That contributes to how the Bundesliga is marketed internationally. FC Bayern always tries to get international stars to make us and the Bundesliga better. Harry Kane is definitely a highly attractive player, England national team captain, top scorer. He would be good for us and the Bundesliga."
The three-time EPL golden boot winner is entering the final 12 months of his current deal in north London, but Spurs have seemingly not yet softened their stance regarding the possible sale of their talisman.
Breaking Down The Rumour: Kane To Bayern
Bayern are rumoured to be preparing a third bid closer to the £100 million (R2.2 billion) valuation the Lilywhites have placed on their record goalscorer.
They will need to move quick, however, with Paris Saint-Germain said to be waiting in the wings to pounce on any opening involving Kane.
