Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has expressed his displeasure with the club's supporters booing Leroy Sane after his disappointing showing over the weekend.
The German winger has not hit the heights he showed during his time with Manchester City, and his position in the team has been questioned at times.
Sane was substituted at half-time against Koln on Sunday, with a number of supporters making their feelings known towards the 25-year-old who is yet to score in three matches this season.
Rummenigge has since backed Sane to bounce back, though, comparing his situation to that of former Bavarians star Arjen Robben.
"He had a bad last season and the European Championship, which, of course, doesn't help.
"(Manager Julian) Nagelsmann must now try to get him back on track. You have taken too much money into your hands for that.
"(Sane's situation is) comparable to the situation of Arjen Robben.
"Arjen wanted to leave us, but we rebuilt him and held him. A year later he became the match-winner against Dortmund."
