France Football have revealed the first 15 of the 30 nominees for the 2016 Ballon d'Or – find out which superstars, including one African, have made the list for the Player of the Year award so far.

Note: France Football are revealing the 30 nominees in batches of five during the course of Monday. So far, only 15 names have been announced, with the next five names set to be revealed later today.
The French publication has handed out the award since 1956, but worked together with FIFA for the past six years. However, the world football body ended its association with the award last month, and are likely to go back to their own version of the accolade, the FIFA World Player of the Year award.
The Ballon d'Or has often also been referred to as the award for the European Footballer of the Year, because all players plying their trade in Europe, whether born in Europe or not, are eligible to be nominated.
