With several France internationals being shortlisted for the 2018 Ballon d'Or award, Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric has revealed that he would choose Antoine Griezmann over Kylian Mbappe for the prize.
Mbappe Responds To Ballon d'Or Talk
French stars Griezmann, Mbappe, Raphael Varane, N'Golo Kante, Paul Pogba and Hugo Loris were all named on the final 30-man shortlist, as was Karim Benzema, who was not a part of Les Bleus' 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning squad.
Many believe that Griezmann, Mbappe and Varane are the favourites of the French players to win the award, and Modric is siding with the Atletico Madrid man.
"I would put Antoine Griezmann in pole position, in terms of the three Frenchmen, for all he has achieved this year," Modric said, according to France Football.
"(Mbappe) is an extraordinary talent, a wonderful promise for the future, but who has already displayed a great level. He's really special."
