Ronaldo was one of the favourites for the award ahead of Monday evening, but it was Modric who was named the winner of this year's edition of the prestigious accolade.
After the ceremony, furious her older brother did not win this year's Ballon d'Or, the Juventus superstar's sister took to Instagram to vent her anger.
"Unfortunately this is the world we live in, rotten, with mafia and ******** money," she wrote on Instagram, translated from Portuguese.
"The power of God is a lot greater than all this rottenness. God takes his time but he doesn't fail."

Ronaldo finished second to Modric, who ended the Portuguese's shared 10-year dominance of the award with FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi on Monday night.
