Ex-Ka Bo Yellow striker Mauricio Affonso has been unveiled as a new signing for Peruvian topflight side Juan Pablo II.
The Uruguayan forward spent two years at Chloorkop, winning two league titles and the Telkom Knockout Cup, before returning to his homeland in 2021 to join River Plate Montevideo.
While Affonso collected silverware during his time with Sundowns, his spell was heavily affected by injuries. Over two seasons, he managed just 22 appearances across all competitions, though he remains fondly remembered for his brace in the 2019 Telkom Knockout Cup final against Maritzburg United, which sealed a 2-1 victory for Masandawana.
Since leaving South Africa, the Melo-born striker has featured for several Uruguayan topflight clubs, including Racing Club, CSyD Cooper and Cerro Largo, following his exit from River Plate in 2023.
