Egyptian publication FilGoal reported that the EFA's Appeal Committee ruled that Al Ahly would not get a points deduction for their withdrawal from the Cairo Derby and instead, Zamalek would be rewarded with a 3-0 win.
In response to the EFA's decision, Zamalek released a statement and said the matter would be escalated to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
"The Board of Directors of Zamalek SC, headed by Hussein Labib, has officially objected to the Appeal Committee’s decision and submitted an urgent complaint to CAS to obtain the club’s full rights and to enforce the regulations fairly concerning the recent Cairo derby, which witnessed a complete withdrawal by the opposing team," Zamalek said.
"According to the regulations, this should have resulted in a six-point swing: three points deducted from the withdrawing team and three awarded to Zamalek for the 3-0 win," the statement added.
The White Castle board added that the Appeal Committee's ruling had overruled the league's disciplinary measures regarding the derby and violated principles of justice and equality.

"Zamalek affirms that it will not back down in preserving all its rights and will take every necessary step to ensure regulations are applied equally across all clubs," the statement concluded.
