A second Gabon international player has passed away just two months after the tragic death of Aaron Boupendza in April.

Boupendza died in shocking circumstances after he fell from an 11-storey building in China. The 28-year-old was playing in China for Chinese Super League side Zhejiang FC.
While the Gabon football fraternity still mourns the loss of Boupendza, they were dealt another blow after it was revealed that Vautour Club striker and Gabon international Kevin Mbakogo died after a suspected heart attack, according to Info 241.
Mbakogo was just 23 years old when he tragically passed away. The player was playing in a friendly match in the Loukala district when he reportedly collapsed.
According to reports, Mbakogo was playing in a friendly game with his friends to stay fit when he collapsed during the match.
Mbakogo came off the back of a successful season with his side Vautour City. The striker netted 11 goals in the National Football 1 (Gabon's top division) and led the scoring charts for the first half of the season, finishing as the league's fourth top-scorer.

His efforts earned him a call-up to the national team, where he was capped twice by the Panthers. Many tributes poured in for Mbakogo, with CF Mounana dubbing him a 'sensational striker', while the National Professional Football League wrote: "Rest In Peace, champion."
