Young Africans extended their record as the most successful team in Tanzanian league history earlier this week, clinching their 26th domestic title. They sealed the championship with a 2-0 victory over Simba SC in their final league match of the season.

While Miloud Hamdi is the manager who led Wananchi to the league crown, the man who started their campaign was Ramovic.

The German tactician began the 2024/25 season with the Dar es Salaam-based side after departing the Betway Premiership and TS Galaxy. However, his stint at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium was short-lived, as he left midway through the season to take up a position at CR Belouizdad in Algeria.

Despite his early departure, Ramovic maintains a strong affection for his former employers and congratulated the team on their latest title triumph.

“Congratulations to the beloved Young Africans club, President Hersi, the players, the coaching staff and the entire technical team for winning the league,” he added.

“I am proud and excited to be part of this journey, contributing to the positive impact and success during my time with the team.”

Ramovic also lauded Davids for the work he has done with the Reds of Msimbazi, acknowledging how close the title race was and the pressure that came with it.

“Winning this important title, especially against a great coach like Fadlu Davids, whose work, intelligence, and personality speak for themselves, is a very respectable achievement,” he said.
