The Cameroon Football Federation have taken a decision to relieve Song of his duties after the disappointing campaign.
Statement:
Today the Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) notified the members of the Indomitable Lions staff of the end of their contract to manage Cameroon's Senior Men's National Team.
FECAFOOT took this opportunity to thank Mr Rigobert SONG BAHANAG and his assistants for their dedication to the service of the nation during the two years they have been in charge.
In the next few days, the details of the recruitment process for a new Indomitable Lions coaching staff will be announced.
FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto'o also confirmed the decision was made as the objectives were not met.
"We have not achieved our objectives, and our executive committee and I do not see ourselves renewing the contract (with Song)," Eto'o told France 24.
