The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a statement condemning fan trouble that took place during Kenya clash against Morocco at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

CAF revealed it had written to the Local Organising Committee (LOC) in Kenya and expressed its concerns over the security breaches at the Kasarani Stadium after Kenya's exciting 1-0 victory over Morocco.
"CAF strongly condemns the continuous security breaches, including the incidents that took place on Sunday 10 August 2025 during the Kenya vs Morocco CHAN fixture," the statement read.
CAF referred the security breaches to the Competent bodies for Investigation to take appropriate action on the matter, while it has also engaged in discussions with the LOC and Kenyan government to ensure there is further compliance with CAF Regulations on Safety and Security.
According to BBC Sport, the security breaches came as a result of fans entering the ground without tickets, far exceeding the 48,000 capacity stadium, including the areas reserved for media.
The publication reported that fans who had tried to access the ground from a lower gate had accused the police of firing tear gas at them.
Meanwhile, ticket sales for the upcoming fixtures at the ground have now been put on hold until the tournament organisers issue more instructions.
The problems at the stadium occurred when hundreds of supporters were left stranded despite having what looked like valid tickets. These fans claimed they bought tickets from those who had bought in bulk and resold to other fans.
Fans were left waiting outside the ground up to 30 minutes before kick-off but frustrations grew and supporters mounted the fence to gain illegal entry to the ground. Security was unable to deal with the presence of the onrushing fans, which nearly led to a stampede.
Fans have raised concerns about the ticketing process at the finals, with many claiming some CHAN matches were marked as sold out before the advertised sales time, with fans urging authorities to crack down on fraudsters.
