The Saudi club had submitted an offer and were engaged in talks with the African champions over a deal for Mayele.
However, journalist Ahmed Shobair claims talks have now stalled due to conflict from the agents.
"The transfer deal for Mayeli to Al-Fateh Saudi Club has almost stopped due to the conflict among agents," Shobair told On Sport FM.
"If the deal returns to one of the Saudi clubs, Pyramids will sign a foreign player."
"Pyramids is currently looking to strengthen the attacking line before the summer transfer window closes."
Meanwhile, the Egyptian outfit have already confirmed the signing of Brazilian Everton da Silva.
