UD Las Palmas head coach Luis Garcia gave some special praise to Orlando Pirates after their pre-season encounter on Wednesday evening.

The two sides could not be separated in Marbella after playing to a goalless draw, although the Buccaneers played the final 30 minutes with 10 players after goalkeeper Sipho Chaine was sent off.

The Palmas coach was not short of praise for the Soweto giants, who managed to hold their own even with being a man down in the heat.

"It was a very good test for us to keep improving to get fit for the Championship," Garcia told SuperSport TV after the match.

"Orlando Pirates are a very physical team, good rhythm, good profiles, individual profiles, very strong players and they play good football.

"Of course, Pirates are one of the best teams in South Africa. It was a very nice match, very nice because Orlando is a very physical team.

"It was a very nice match. It's very good for us to play against them. It's our first week working together and our first friendly match."

Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges will be back in action on Saturday evening when they take on Granada in their final pre-season encounter in Spain.
