Having recently appointed one of African football's brightest coaches, the Red Castle were seemingly keen on carrying that momentum by equipping the South African tactician with the best possible players.

Recently, it was revealed that the Casablanca outfit, in a bid to put their worst league finish in a decade behind them, was keen on signing Colombian superstar James Rodriguez and former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

Not only will they be looking to compete for the Botola Pro Inwi title, but they will also be at the FIFA Club World Cup later in the 2024/25 season, and in a bid to make a significant impression at the global spectacle, it seems they want the best possible squad at hand.

According to Diario AS, however, Rodriguez will not be playing for the three-time African champions as it has been revealed that the two parties were nowhere near reaching an agreement regarding personal terms for the 33-year-old.

The same report claims that this is also true of Balotelli.

While the Italian striker may not have a club at the moment, Rodriguez does as he is currently plays for Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo.

He is said to be valued at €12 million (R242 million), and while he may not be headed to Morocco, it is understood that he wants to make a return to European football.
