FIFA President Gianni Infantino has sent a message of condolence following the passing of former Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro.

The Zimbabwean international passed away aged 40 after a long battle with illness, just five years after he had called time on his playing career.
His death sent shockwaves throughout South Africa as tributes poured in for the player who featured for the Buccaneers, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Ajax Cape Town and Highlands Park.
According to Soccer24, FIFA President Gianni Infantino sent a message to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) President Nqobile Magwizi to pay tribute to Ndoro's career and achievements both on and off the field.
"I would like to express my sincerest and heartfelt condolences on the passing of former international player, Tendai Ndoro. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel for this loss,” Infantino wrote.
The Italian also praised Ndoro's work rate and character, calling him an inspiration to many young Zimbabwean footballers.
"Legend of Zimbabwe football, known for his talent and resilience, inspiration for many young footballers, his legacy and achievements, and in particular his personality, his leadership, his popularity and his human qualities will not be forgotten, and he will be truly missed,” Infantino added.
He offered a sympathetic message to the Ndoro family and the extended Zimbabwean football fraternity.

“Our thoughts are with all of you. We hope that these memories and our words of support may help bring some peace and solace at this difficult time,” he said.
