Mamelodi Sundowns have won their long-running civil case against former coach Pitso Mosimane and his agency MT Sports, headed by his wife, Moira Tlhagale.

According to SABC Sport, the South Gauteng High Court has ruled that Mosimane and MT Sports must pay Sundowns R7.9 million, plus interest, relating to agents’ commission fees after the coach left the club for Egyptian giants Al Ahly back in 2020, just months into a new four-year contract.

The dispute centred on a clawback clause in the contract, which required repayment of commission if the coach departed early.

Judge Shaanaz Mia upheld the clause and found the court had jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Mosimane, Sundowns’ most successful coach with 11 trophies, and his legal team have signalled their intention to appeal the ruling.
