Earlier this transfer window, Soccer Laduma revealed that the Buccaneers were keen on signing Malian teenage sensation Adama Coulibaly. The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 campaign with Al Hilal Omdurman, and his performances for the Sudanese giants have now caught the eye of teams from across the globe.
Pirates and Tunisian giants Esperance were two of the African clubs this publication was informed had shown interest in the winger. However, with Al Hilal slapping a €2 million (R41.1 million) price tag on their prized asset, it seems both may have been priced out of the race.
According to Africa Foot, Saudi Pro League duo Al Fateh and Al Riyadh are currently leading the chase, with both clubs submitting bids to lure the West African prodigy away from the Blue Wave.
The report claims that Al Fateh tabled an offer worth €1.2 million (R24.6 million) plus €300 000 (R6.1 million) in add-ons, while Al Riyadh put forward a €1 million (R20 million) bid that also included an undisclosed sell-on percentage — a clause that could push the overall deal closer to Al Hilal’s valuation.

It remains to be seen whether the Sudanese giants will accept either proposal, but it is understood they are increasingly resigned to losing their teenage star. Ligue 1 outfit Stade Brestois were also linked with the player, although their offer is believed to have gone no higher than €700 000 (R14.3 million).
