On Tuesday night, the Desert Foxes will take on South Africa for the fifth time in their history when they face off at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
Having met at three different editions of the AFCON, this will be only the second time the two sides contest a friendly.
The two nations had contrasting fortunes at the latest edition of the continental showpiece, though, with the north African giants being eliminated at the group stage without registering a single victory. Bafana, on the other hand, were a penalty shootout away from making it to the final as they managed a third-place finish in the Ivory Coast.
Following their exploits in west Africa, the two-time African champions are now eager to test themselves against Hugo Broos' charges, and according to attackers Fares Chaibi and Baghdad Bounedjah, it will be tough game.
"We have a very difficult task ahead of us before the South African national team, which includes distinguished players in its ranks and has a great reputation on the African scene. For our part, we will try to do what we have to and wait for what happens," Chaibi said, according Kooora.
Bounedjah added, as per Echorouk Online: "South Africa has a respectable team, as evidenced by its third position in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cote d'Ivoire.
