Jose Riveiro is slowly getting into his flow with the Red Devils after picking up his first win in a resounding 4-1 win against Pharco in the Egyptian Premier League.
Despite the win, it appears as though the former Orlando Pirates boss is still uncertain of his strongest lineup, particularly when it comes to his goalkeeping options.
According to Yallakora via Al Ahly TV, El Nahhas revealed the truth about Riveiro's stance toward the team's current goalkeeping contingent of Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shobier, and Mohamed Sicha.
"Al Ahly is lucky to have the two best goalkeepers in Egypt, like Mohamed El Shenawy and Mostafa Shobier," El Nahhas said.
"We know El Shenawy is a great figure, the team captain, and he has no problem with Shobier starting the league. But, in the end, the decision belongs to the head coach," he added.
The Egyptian said the competition within the club was a good sign for the club, considering the mixture of experience and young talent.
He added: "No one knows what goes on in José Riveiro’s mind regarding this matter specifically, since it remains between him and the goalkeeping coach. Therefore, no spot is guaranteed."
According to Pan-Africa Football, El Nahhas revealed that there were no issues within the current squad, particularly surrounding Riveiro's decision to hold morning training sessions.
"That’s up to Riveiro," he said. "Every coach has his own methods, and match results are not linked to training times."
