The 30-year-old attacker is approaching the final year of his current deal at the Cairo International Stadium. It is rumoured that while negotiations have seemingly stagnated over a new deal, the Club of the Century have received offers via the player's agent from the Middle East as well as from South Africa.
However, according to Al Watan Sports, Ahly's Swiss manager has urged the club to sign the Bafana Bafana international to a new deal. The 63-year-old's critical request is believed to have come after a meeting he had with club sporting director Khaled Bebo.

Not keen on losing one of their best players on a free transfer next season, it is said that the record African champions are exploring the possibility of selling Tau in the upcoming transfer window.
The same report now states that the former Austrian national team head coach has rejected the idea of selling the reining CAF Men's Interclub Player of the Year as he considers him an integral part of his project with the Egyptian side.
