Sundowns Star Ends Drought In World Cup Qualifiers

Group H

Namibia 1-1 Equatorial Guinea

Namibia remain firmly in the race for top spot in Group H after playing to a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea on Monday evening.

The Brave Warriors returned to wining ways last Friday after defeating Malawi, while Guinea defeated Soa Tome e Principe.

The hosts got the opening goal when Peter Shalulile opened the scoring in the 51st minute after being set up by Deon Hotto.

However, Guinea managed to level matters three minutes later through Saul Coco's finish.

The point sees Namibia remain in second spot, while Equatorial Guinea find themselves in fourth place.

Group F

Cote d'Ivoire 1-0 Gambia

Cote d'Ivoire reclaimed top spot in Group F with a 1-0 win over Gambia on Monday.

The Elephants dropped to second spot on Sunday after Gabon defeated Kenya.

However, Sebastien Haller's 15th minute strike was enough to seal maximum points and take the African champions back on top.

Group I

Madagascar 0-3 Ghana

Ghana cemented top spot in the group after defeating Madagascar 4-0 at the Grand Stade Al-Hoceima on Monday night.

The Black Stars got off to the perfect start when Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey opened the scoring on 11 minutes by nodding home a cross from Jordan Ayew.

The two players combined once again in the 53rd minute as Ayew picked out Partey, who headed home his second goal on the night.

Ayew was having a performance to remember as he bagged his third assist five minutes later by playing in Mohammed Kudus, who calmly slotted past the Madagascar shot-stopper.

Other results:

CAR 0-0 Mali

Liberia 2-1 Sao Tome

Guinea-Bissau 1-2 Burkina Faso
