CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe has reportedly addressed concerns pertaining to when the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be held.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was the most successful iteration of the tournament, on the pitch and commercially.
African football's governing body has claimed it generated a net profit of $80 million (R1.4 billion) from it, while a record number of goals (119) were scored at the AFCON in the Ivory Coast.
During the 34th edition of the competition in west Africa, Motsepe was asked when the next continental showpiece would be held, to which he had no definitive answer, and it seems that sentiment is true three months later.
Morocco are hosts for the 2025 AFCON, and while it was originally mooted to take place during the European club football off-season, FIFA are planning to host the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup during that time.
As a consequence of the introduction of the newly formed international event, the African spectacle remains without any official date.
According to El Botola, while at the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, the former Mamelodi Sundowns chairman revealed who would have the final verdict on when the next AFCON will take place.
"FIFA is the one who will decide when AFCON 2025 will be organised," he is reported to have said.

2025 will be the first time the north African nation hosts the competition since 1988, when it was won by Cameroon.
