The west Africans booked their place in the next round of the competition on Monday night following a 1-0 win over Mauritania in the round of 16.
A late penalty scored by experienced international Ryan Mendes cemented Cape Verde's spot among the final eight, where they will meet the winner of the crunch tie between South Africa and Morocco this coming Saturday.
Reacting to his team's progression, manager Pedro Brito believes his charges are confident they can reach the last four.
"We are proud of everything we have done up to now. We always tried to win the game and we thoroughly deserved the victory," he said, according to NDTV Sports.
"We have our objective, which from day one has been to get to the semi-finals.
"We are one step away from that now and we are going to keep going, while obviously staying humble and respecting our opponents, but we believe.
"That is our focus, and we are going to try and get there."
Cape Verde enjoyed 70% possession in their victory over Mauritania at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, and managed 11 more shots than their opponents.
