South African midfielder Bongani Zungu is said to be wanted by several big clubs in Europe. Should the former Mamelodi Sundowns man leave Vitoria de Guimaraes?
After a difficult first half of the season in Portugal, Zungu was given a consistent run of games in Vitoria's midfield, and his coach has not looked back since.
The 24-year-old has featured 24 times this season for his team, and is set to play against Benfica in the Taca de Portugal (Cup of Portugal) final on Sunday, and he'll certainly be hoping to win his first piece of European silverware.
Zungu's displays are said to have attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe, including Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto, Mainz, Hoffenheim and Southampton.
Should he look to move on?
A move to England is said to be unlikely due to work-permit complications, while Hoffenheim would certainly be a better option if he were to go to Germany – they finished 12 places above Mainz in the Bundesliga this season.
The prospect of joining either Benfica, Sporting or Porto is definitely exciting, but Zungu might have to consider whether or not he'll play as regularly as he did for Vitoria in the second half of this season.
Of course, all three of the aforementioned Portuguese clubs finished above Zungu's team in Portugal, although Vitoria's fourth-placed finished secured UEFA Europa League football next season.
What would your advice to Zungu on his future be?
